                      AUTUMN IN PARIS

 

Have you read Autumn In Paris? If you haven’t, I suggest you to read this book. This book was very good for read. This novel written by Ilana Tan. Actually, this book is no one that write by Ilana. There are Summer In Seoul, Spring In London, Winter in Tokyo and the new one is Sunshine Becomes You. This novel published in Jakarta 2007 by Scholastic Press. There are 272 pages of this novel. I know that 272 pages is much to read. But, you must read this novel, you would not bored with this story. Trust me!

Tara Dupont like Paris and autumn. She is fussy and cheerful girl, she also can not be silent. That is thought by his best friend since he lived in Paris, Sebastien Giraudeau. Tara loved him, therefore Tara annoyed with Sebastien who did not pick her up at the airport.

Sebastien Giraudeau, already considered Tara as his younger sister. He always said that Tara is a female number one for him. Sebastien introduce Tara at his friend, Tatsuya Fujisawa. At first, Tara did not like it. Especially in that time Tara wants to be alone with Sebastien, why he even invite others into his meeting?

One day, Tara is pique with Sebastien who do not want to accompany her to eat for girls who were approached him, Juliette. His father was unable to accompany her. So, she go to the restaurant alone, but she found Tatsuya. Apparently, Tatsuya is fun, not as previously thought Tara.

Tatsuya Fujisawa hate Paris and autumn. He hate Paris because the city has been restoring old wounds that are deep inside. Work was forced to take him back to Paris, also to look for someone  who destroyed his life, his mother’s first love. But he did not expect to be carried away at Tara Dupont, chatty girl but can changed his world.

Day by day, Tatsuya and Tara getting closer. Tara often accompany Tatsuya around the city of Paris. As it turns out, even though they had often to Paris, Tatsuya never visit the beautiful and historic place there. They spend the day together, enjoying the romance of Paris together. Slowly but surely, hate Tatsuya with autumn, began to erode and disappear because presence of Tara in his side.

Not unexpectedly, he had been looking just past reveals little story that makes bitter sweet things in life now. Tatsuya finally met his mother’s  first love, Monsieur Lemercier, which turned out to be his biological father. Jean-Daniel Dupont Lemercier already had a daughter named Victoria, who turns out to Tara. This means that Tara and Tatsuya have a blood relationship. Tara and Tatsuya, both are very upset with the fact. They try to live their lives back to normal with avoid each other even though it is very painful. In the end, Tatsuya back to Japan. Shortly afterwards, Tara got news that Tatsuya accident experience at work. With tears, Tara followed him to Japan just to see the destruction of her heart; Tatsuya died.

This novel is interesting to read. Ilana Tan can depicting various emotions felt by the characters very well, so that the reader would seemed to come to feel it. Ilana Tan’s language style simple make the readers easy to understand the story. Paris as the location of the story make this novel is interesting. We can know the famous places visited by many people from all over the world at Paris.

I suggest that you read this novel. You will not regret it and you must follow the existing flow. enjoy the story and you will feel the emotion to cry.
